• 1 Rubi Skid plate
• 4 cylindrical spacers
• 4 10mm X 50mm bolts
• 1 10mm X 50mm bolt w/ nut
• 2 3/8" X 1.25" bolts
• 2 3/8" nylock bolts
• 4 3/8" washers
• 4 7/16" washers

1. Removal of stock bumper. This step may not be a necessity depending on the bumper you have already, but over all we have found it makes installation much easier. To remove the stock bumper take off the factory shroud (if not already removed), disconnect the fog lights, and then undo the 8 bolts (2 on each side of the frame rail, 4 on each side of the frame). Stock bumper should now be removable. There is also a plastic trim piece that is held on by 2 plastic retainer screws. If you strip out the plastic screws you’ll probably just have to improvise in its removal i.e. cut or yank it off… enjoy.
2. If equipped, unbolt frame mounts for swaybar and swaybar disconnect. 2 bolts on each side of the frame hold the factory swaybar to the frame remove those and allow the swaybar to come down. You do not need to remove the swaybar completely unless desired. We recommend having something for the swaybar & disconnect motor to sit on to prevent stretching on the wiring. You may also just unplug the wiring from the disconnect actuator.
3. Removal of factory Bash Bar. This is the fun part. Using the bottom of the vertical boxed structure as a guide, and your saws-all of course, cut directly along the bottom side of the vertical brackets and remove the factory bash bar: Pictures below should help illustrate the removal process.

 



4. Test fit Rubi Skid and new location for swaybar motor. Now with the bash bar removed you can see where the Rubi Skid will fit. Temporarily put the swaybar back in place. As you do so, rotate the swaybar motor up as shown in the picture above. This will require the removal of the bolt that is connected into the suspension bushing attached to the swaybar mount on the passenger side of the vehicle. Rotate the swaybar until the motor is almost contacting the plastic radiator shield. Replace the bolt with the 10mm bolt w/ welded on washer. This bolt will locate into the swaybar actuator motor taking place of one of the factory bolts in the housing. It should be the one that now closest lines up with the hanger bushing. This may require some bending of the metal hanger to get the placement just right. If everything looks good you can go ahead with the installation.
5. Bolting on Rubi Skid and swaybar. Lift swaybar up in place. Use the 4 cylindrical spacers, the 4 10mm X 50mm bolts, and the 4 7/16" washers to retain swaybar and Rubi skid in place. NOTE: WE highly recommend using lock tight on these bolts. The cylindrical spacers go in between Rubi Skid and swaybar mounts. Put bolts in loosely but do not tighten. Use the 2 3/8" bolts and nylock nuts, with washers on both the bolt and nut end respectively in the holes on the front side wings of the Rubi Skid. It is easiest to use a socket on the outside and a wrench on the inside holding the nut. You may want to use something to help hold the nut in place in the wrench, such as some of the packaging material, so it doesn’t fall out while you are trying to install it. Once all bolts are in place, tighten thoroughly. We recommend checking bolt periodically to make sure they are secure and loosening hasn’t occurred
6. Test swaybar for proper actuation. If the swaybar is working you are ready to go…

:::NOTE::: You may want to come back and check all the bolts in a few weeks or after a nice off road trip. The bolts can loosen a bit.
